In part one of “A Trip to the East”, we talked about some of the amazing places we visited on our inspirational trip to Asia, some of the steps we took in creating the AW19 catwalk range, and of course not forgetting those all important shopping trips!
In this instalment we’ll take you through some of the challenges we faced creating the range, and how the collection was received when we returned to London for the UKFT launch.
Finalising the collection…
Developing a new collection doesn’t come without its challenges, but thankfully our experienced designers were able to bring their extensive knowledge to work with the factory technicians to overcome these.
Often when we develop innovative new techniques or samples, we come across obstacles with construction but working directly in the factory allowed us to discuss any issues, amend incorrect samples, and find the best way to proceed.
Once we were happy with the final stage of our collection, we were able to fast track our designs and ensure all our samples were created on time by the factory ready for the London launch.
Upon our return to the UK it was all go, as we eagerly prepared our AW19 collection ready for our UKFT Runway preview launch.
Our Runway launch was created exclusively for our private label customer who are invited to a two hour viewing session to select products they are interested in placing pre orders for.
The cohesive AW19 collection sat together in clearly defined colour groups and customers were able to browse the pieces and select what they wanted to order. This is on a first come first served basis, however we are able to customise and adapt designs to create a new version should a second customer wish to order something similar. This ensures that the customer can capture the key trend of the style without it looking too similar to the other piece. It is of great importance to us that each product sold to our customers is unique and original to them.
We are delighted to say we had incredibly positive feedback from all customers who booked appointments to view the collection, and the launch was followed with samples being price agreed and confirmed by multiple customers.
