Kidswear Accessories Research Trip
To carry on our research in looking for the best design ideas for kids accessories in the UK fashion market, Boardmans decided to pay a visit to the cultured seaside town of Brighton beach; looking for inspiration from competitors, consumers and the popular clothing independent stores by the seaside coast.
With graphics and prints really strong across many areas of clothing styles particularly in kidswear fashion, we found that this feature could be very easily transferred onto fashion accessories; which was great start to our project right from the very word go. As sketchy illustrative prints and line drawings with pops of colour were also a popular feature in kidswear accessories, the more affordable luxury brands such as Cath Kidson and Oliver Bonas incorporated colourful textiles and tones in their trend forecasts; making it well-known eccentric colours are an essential element to kidswear development this Spring Summer season.
With exquisite embroidery and applique ideas on girls as well as bright pom-poms and tassel trims also edging their way onto the highstreet market, Brighton beach proved to be a successful trip away for our independent fashion research.
This is because, from collecting strong combinations of straw sampled hats and other sunhat styles, with vibrant prints and pastel tones, the cleverly made washes and embroidery techniques that were added to these playful design products, made this year’s kidswear fashion appear more exciting than ever! From focusing on bold graphics, wild prints and eclectic colour palettes, its no wonder any mother would look twice at what’s up and coming with kidswear fashion this Spring Summer season.
