Spring Summer 17 Flash Trends
We love immersing ourselves into a new season, especially when the sun is shining. We’re enjoying seeing the high street transitioning into Spring Summer 16 but here at Boardmans we are focusing on Spring Summer 17!
Its a great time of year to draw inspiration too! Coachella in Palm Springs, California has kick started festival season. It is a plethora of style, setting the trends for upcoming summer festivals. From soft fringing, wide brim floppy hats to vintage crochet – we love it all and its only weekend one!
Not only are we pulling inspiration from Musical events but also from Sporting events, with Beyonce’s recent launch of active wear, Ivy Park at Topshop. Spring Summer is a season which reflects change, new beginnings and savouring the outdoors. With an enviable range which includes some key active wear accessories including a ribbed beanie, a mesh baseball cap and an elasticated headband, its enough to make anyone want to lace up their trainers and go!
For our latest flash trend, our designers have identified clashing stripes as a key pattern. Which will transition well from Autumn Winter 16 to early Spring 17.
Stripes clashing in scale, colour and direction, reflect this seasons all important mix and match trend.
Sporty yet sophisticated, retro yet modern, the trend incorporates a 1970s colour palette combined with mono highlights for a contemporary twist.
Inspiration for this trend comes from the Victoria Beckham, Joseph and Missoni catwalk shows. Non-matching patterns are key, with graphic lines; creating a statement look for this trans season.
We have also fallen for jumbled geometrics, this trend incorporates past, present and future ideas.
Prints have a patchwork feel in upbeat mid-tones, arranged into new formations for a contemporary feel. Mixed windowpane checks and abstract shapes collide with 3D geometric stripes for a mishmash pattern. Contrasting combinations of colour, and large scale prints give a bold look.
This trend would translate well into woven scarves, updating the Geo trend of Autumn Winter 16, and hat bands as for the transitional season.
We hope you look forward to seeing all of our new Spring Summer 17 collection.
