Mid Autumn Festival

The leaves are turning, the full moon is getting closer and the team at Boardmans China are counting down to Mid Autumn Festival celebrations!

According to the Chinese lunar calendar, the Mid Autumn festival (Zhongqiu Jie) is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (which falls on Friday 13th September in 2019). The festival is the second largest annual celebration in China and is usually a time for family reunions, eating mooncakes and outdoor celebrations under the full moon.

Modern traditions revolve around giving and receiving gifts, taking time off work to spend time with family and friends and it is tradition at Boardmans China to send out cards to our members to recognise this special date in the lunar calendar.

The festival means a lot to the Chinese community so Boardmans staff both in the UK and in China are joining together to wish all our customers a very happy Mid Autumn Festival!
