With less than a week to go until the big event, we’re now very much looking forward to finding out who will walk away with the top accolades at the British Fashion Awards 2015.
Dubbed the Oscars of the fashion world, it’s the British Fashion Council’s annual opportunity to celebrate and promote the UK’s creative talent, which is a cause very close to our hearts here at Boardmans. As inspirational British designers ourselves, we work hard with so many leading retailers to design and manufacture accessory ranges that stylish shoppers absolutely love – bringing top fashion and style to the high street.
We already know that Karl Lagerfeld will be honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award for his fifty-plus years at the forefront of fashion and the likes of Chanel, Fendi and Chloé. And we can’t wait to see who walks away with the most sought-after award of the entire event – Womenswear Designer of the Year – as voted for by over 300 key industry figures from across the world and fashion spectrum.
Victoria Beckham, Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson will be fighting it out for what is one fashion’s highest accolades. Whoever wins will be join the impressive line-up of previous winners including John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Phoebe Philo for Céline.
And of course, as British accessory designers ourselves, our eyes are on the Emerging Accessory Designer and Accessory Designer categories, nominees for which include shoe-designers Charlotte Olympia, Sophia Webster and Tabitha Simmons along with Charlotte Simone, Fernando Jorge, Jordan Askill – shoe, jewellery and scarf designers to watch.
It’s this kind of creative talent that inspires the team here at Boardmans. We too work hard to find and create emerging trends from across the globe and it is brands like these – and Charlotte Simone, in particular, as she shares our love of scarves – which inspire us.
In fact, our top-selling colour blocked skinny fur scarf and khaki and navy long length super soft fur scarf both take a nod from Charlotte Simone’s designs – her Popsicle being sported by the likes of Rita Ora, Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo.
The brand is already well-known amongst those in the know – including some favourite fashionable celebrities – and we can’t wait to see if Charlotte Simone takes away the coveted Emerging Accessories Designer of the Year Award next week.
